    'G. Eastern Railway and Steam ships C.'

    The Great Eastern Railway ordered three steamships to operate the service. The ships were named Amsterdam, Berlin, and Vienna to publicise some of the rail connections from the Hook of Holland. Berlin was built in 1894 by Earles Shipbuilding and Engineering Company of Hull.

    They were uniform buttons for prison wardens. Convicts were transported to West Australia (for the most part) from 1850 to 1868.

    The front has a Queen Victoria crown (1837-1901) as well as the words ‘Convict prison’.

    During the 17th century important charities were founded for schools and for alms-houses.

    Latymer school was established under the will of Edward Latymer dated 1624

    Latymer school catered only for boys but in 1778 a girls' charity school was started in Edmonton

    1721-1942

    By will proved 1871 Edward Edwards left stock for gifts of bread, coal, or clothing, to Church of England widows of Coalbrookdale parish. In 1975 the income of his charity, which included a bequest of Elizabeth Edwards, was £10.

    The London Capital Club building was purpose built for the Gresham Club in 1915 when they moved from their old location in St. Swithins Lane.

    The Gresham Club, named after Sir Thomas Gresham, a noted Elizabethan dignitary and founder of the Royal Exchange, was founded in 1843.
