Post Medieval cast copper-alloy mount of probable 16th or 17th century date. The mount takes the form of a flat plate, widened into a pelta shape at one end with a narrower waist which widens slightly to the other end which is shaped in a 90 degree angle. This end may also have been pelta shaped and now be broken. Extending from the reverse are two integral spiked rivets, one above the other. The rivets have been bent over at 90 degrees in the same direction. The front appears tinned. The mount measures 19.1mm long, 11.9mm wide and 1.6mm thick excludng the spikes, 6.0mm thick including. The weight is 1.43g.
